Rhinoplasty Patient #10:
45 year old male who came to Dr. Slupchynskyj because he was unhappy with results from a previous rhinoplasty with another surgeon. The other surgeon placed an implant that was far too large and bulky for this patient's nose which created a large "dead" space in the dorsum of the nose. An Open Rhinoplasty technique was used to remove the old implant, which was replaced with Dr. Slupshynskyj's custom carved silastic implant in order to raise the bridge and refine the nasal frontal angle.
This patient had tip-refining procedures, including nasal shield and strut grafts to further define and support the tip. The patient also had a chin implant, which helped balance his facial features by matching chin to the tip of the nose (see profile view). It should be noted that this patient's previous surgery by another surgeon made it very difficult to achieve the patient's initially desired results; however, this patient was extremely pleased post operatively and felt results far exceeded his expectations.
